WE aRe 2013 is being held at the Asilomar Conference Center at the southern tip of Monterey Bay. Right on the beach, and just a few miles from the Monterey Bay Aquarium, it is a perfect location to get out of our usual habits, find sanctuary on the beach, and get a ton of work done in a beautiful place with interesting people.
About Asilomar Conference & Retreat Center:

Julia Morgan, Architect
Asilomar was built as a retreat center by some of the most influential women in California’s history and designed by San Franciscan architect, Julia Morgan, architect of the Hearst Castle. The first conference was held in 1913 as YWCA staff, students and supporters met to discuss women’s issues of the time — and to find solutions, such as breaking into careers dominated by men. The name came from a Stanford University studen, Helen Salisbury, who compounded the Spanish words: “asilo” meaning retreat or refuge and “mar” meaning sea, hense “refuge-by-the-sea.” Now, nearly 100 years later, we do the same: gatehr the top leaders in business, education, and social entrepreneurship to discuss the innovation in what we do and enjoy rejuvenation by the sea.
